I am an Applied Economist. I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Sumeet Gulati in the Department of Food and Resource Economics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). My research focuses on the intersections of environmental economics, energy transition and development. I have extensive experience at the interface of policy and government, through my work for government agencies and NGOs (Ministry of Transportation Canada, Ministry of Energy Chile, IDRC, IBD), working on a range of Environmental Economic issues (EVs, energy efficiency, energy transition, biofuels, GHG emissions and water resource management).

About

Beyond academia, I am an avid mountaineer and climber. These pursuits continually push my limits, teaching me resilience, focus, and adaptability — qualities that also strengthen my work as a researcher, collaborator, and problem-solver. In the mountains, as in academic and professional settings, success depends on teamwork, sound judgment under pressure, and steady commitment to long-term goals.

As a father and partner, I bring the same dedication and perspective to family life, balancing rigor with empathy, and discipline with creativity. My professional journey is not only about research but also about cultivating leadership, collaboration, and resilience — values I carry into every project I take on.

My core values are non-negotiable in any work environment. For me, true success means achieving academically and professionally while also lifting up those around me — and maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.
